In Runny Babbit: A Billy Sook is written in something called Spoonerisms. Spoonersims is when you change a letter in two or more words. An example would be instead of Bunny Rabbit, Silverstein wrote Runny Babbit. He switches the first letter in two or more words throughout the entire book for a humorous effect.
The story of Runny Babbit goes back 25 years before it was actually published. Silverstein wanted everything to be perfect, so he was called a perfectionist. He wouldn't stop working on something until he thought it was in his eyes perfect. When he wrote poetry he liked words to be unplanned, to just spill out from his thoughts to the paper. Runny Babbit: A Billy Sook was one of many books of poetry written by Shel Silverstein.
